課程概述

本密集課程的目標在讓學生了解抗病育種相關的實務,透過討論實例,並到現場參訪與育種家對話,實際練習病害反應調查,觀察抗病篩選試驗設計,了解抗病育種的原因、育種策略、及實際執行方式;每年會依作物及病害性質選擇兩個單位參訪,此次課程將參觀台灣農業試驗所嘉義分所以及壽米屋,提供學生了解稻米產業鏈的機會,參訪日期為3月26日(週六)。除了「作物抗病育種 (Agron 5071) 」,建議學生能先修過「作物育種學 (Agron 3005) 」與「植物病理學 (PPM3013) 」。
The objective of this mini-course is for students to understand practices related to breeding for disease resistance. Real cases will be discussed. Then visits will be organized during Spring (Tentatively, the 4th weekend of March), when they will have face-to-face dialog with breeders, practice on evaluation of disease reactions, observe experiment design, and understand why breeding for disease resistance, its strategy and implementation. Each year, two institutions will be visited. This year we will visit Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute Chaiyi Branch, and Rice House, which provide the opportunity to understand rice value chain. The visit date will be 26th March (Sat.). Other than Agron 5071, it is highly recommended that students took both Agron 3005 and PPM 3013. 

課程目標
透過實例討論,並到現場觀察與實習,讓學生了解育種家進行抗病育種的原因及執行策略。
Through case discussions and hands-on evaluation on disease reaction, on-site observation, and face-to-face dialog with breeders, students will understand why breeding for disease resistance and how it is implemented.
